Known for its
medicinal properties, aloe vera is known for its herbal properties and soothing
properties. It is one of the most effective treatments for wounds and has
excellent anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties. It is used as a gel,
spray, lotion, in the form of capsules, or creams. Aloe vera is even drunk in
the form of juice which is said to help those suffering from heartburn, ulcers,
and other digestive disorders. Also known for its excellent properties at being
able to exfoliate the skin, and removing dead skin cells it also helps prevent the
ageing of the skin. It has many as 75 nutrients, almost 20 amino acids, vital
minerals like calcium, magnesium and sodium, enzymes, vitamins,
polysaccharides, nitrogen and other components, which play a role in curing
muscle pains and reduces the intensity of pigmentation and lighten dark spots
on the face. Aloe vera is grown in very arid climates and has widely grown in
Africa and other arid regions. Aloe Vera also helps provide relief from
itching, and helps to heal blisters and sores. The extracts are also useful in
treating diabetes, besides having been used in make-up, tissues, soaps,
moisturizers, sunscreens, soaps, incense, and shampoos. Aloe vera is now agriculturally
grown on a wide-scale in Australia, Cuba, China, Mexico, India, Jamaica, Kenya
and South Africa.
